Day 01: ANKARA
Arrival in Ankara. Transfer to the hotel where a welcome cocktail awaits, followed by dinner. (D)
Day 02: CAPPADOCIA
Our City Sights Tour visits the Mausoleum of Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey, and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations to discover the historical background of Anatolia. In the afternoon depart for Cappadocia. (B,L,D)
Day 03: CAPPADOCIA
The first stop in Cappadocia is Göreme Open Air Museum with it's beautiful frescoes hidden in rock carved churches. Next tour the mysterious underground city at Derinkuyu, climb Uçhisar Citadel and visit the famous pottery town of Avanos. (B,L,D)
Day 04: AMASYA
Departure to Amasya. Visit ancient Hattuþaþ the capital city of the ancient Hittite Empire. The open-air sanctuary of the city dates from the 2nd millennia. We will visit the archeological museum at the site. (B,L,D)
Day 05:
TRABZON
In the lovely riverside city of Amasya our first visit is the Palace of the Maidens, followed by the rock cut tombs of the Pontic Kings. Atatürk Villa is our next stop and the mosque of Sultan Beyazıt (1486). Depart to Trabzon. (B,L,D)
Day 06: TRABZON
We explore Sumela Monastery, founded in Byzantine times. After lunch we visit 'Haghia Sophia' Church. Our day ends sweetly at a hazelnut and chocolate factory, the dominating industry of the region. (B,L,D)
Day 07: ERZURUM
Departure to Erzurum. On arrival visit the Çifte Minareli Medresse (the University with Twin Minarets), the "Three Seljuk Shrines" and the University of Yakutiye all dating from the Seljuk emperial period. (B,L,D)
Day 08: DOGUBEYAZIT
Departure for Doğubayazıt, a historical town near the Armenian border. Visiting the ancient city of Ani. (B,L,D)
Day 09: VAN
First stop is the 18th Century Ishakpasha Palace. Afterwards, we will leave for Van where we visit Tushpa, the 3,000 year old Urartian capital. (B,L,D)
Day 10: VAN
We will spend the morning at Turkey's largest lake. We take a ferry to visit Akdamar Church. After lunch visit Hoþap Castle and the ancient city of Çavuştepe. (B,L,D)
Day 11: URFA
Early departure for Urfa to visit the site of the world's first university. On the way, there will be a visit to the ancient city walls and the Grand Mosque of Diyarbakır. (B,L,D)
Day 12: ADIYAMAN
After visiting the biblical city of Harran near the Syrian frontier, we will continue to Mt. Nemrut. (B,L,D)
Day 13:
ANTAKYA
We sit amongst ancient gods and watch the sunrise across the Euphrates river and the valley of Mesopotamia. Later drive to Antakya and visit St. Peter's Church (the first christian church). Later a visit to one of the world's finest mosaic museums. Here in ancient Antioch St. Peter and St. Barnabas started their preachings. (B,L,D)
Day 14: MERSIN
We visit Tarsus, the birthplace of the apostle St. Paul and the Archeological Museum. In the afternoon we walk the gorges of 'Heaven and Hell' before departing to Mersin. (B,L,D)
Day 15: ANTALYA
Drive to Antalya and visit Mamure Castle. Later visit the world's best preserved ancient roman theater at Aspendos and the ancient city of Perge where St. Paul gave his first sermon. (B,L,D)
Day 16: ANTALYA
We visit Antalya's Archeological Museum and tour the ancient city of Phaselis where Alexander the Great chose to spend the winter with his companions in the year 334 BC. Free afternoon to relax or explore. (B,L)
Day 17: PAMUKKALE
Departure for Pamukkale. We visit the fascinating "cotton castle" and the ancient city of Hierapolis. (B,L,D)
Day 18: KUSADASI
Drive to Kuþadasi, on the way we visit the ancient city of Aphrodisias dedicated to the deity of beauty and love. Our day will be completed with a visit to the Museum of Ephesus. (B,L,D)
Day 19: KUSADASI
We tour Ephesus the world's most complete and fascinating ancient city. Later we visit the Basilica of St. John and the House of Virgin Mary. The evening is yours to enjoy, perhaps a seafood restaurant. (B,L)
Day 20: ASSOS
Departure for Assos. On the way visit the impressive site of the Acropolis at Pergamon and one of the most important medical centres of classical times Asclepion. (B,L,D)
Day 21: BURSA
Visit the mythological city of Troy. Depart for Bursa where we tour the Grand Mosque, the Green Mosque and the Green Tomb. (B,L,D)
Day 22: ISTANBUL
Depart for Istanbul and enjoy a cruise along the Bosphorus. Tour the Blue Mosque and St. Sophia Cathedral. (B,L,D)
Day 23: ISTANBUL
Begin the day with a visit to Topkapı Palace. In the afternoon haggle for bargains in the Covered Bazaar. (B,L,D)
Day 24: ISTANBUL
Today is free from planned activity ending with a farewel dinner at the hotel. (B,L)
Day 25:
Transfer to the airport. Departure to HOME. (B)
