Cappadocia Solar Eclipse TOURS 2006 - (Total Solar Eclipse of 2006 March 29)
On Wednesday, 2006 March 29, a total eclipse of the Sun will be visible from within a narrow corridor which traverses half the Earth. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow begins in Brazil and extends across the Atlantic, northern Africa, and central Asia where it ends at sunset in western Mongolia. A partial eclipse will be seen within the much broader path of the Moon's penumbral shadow, which includes the northern two thirds of Africa, Europe, and central Asia.

First day will begin with transfere from the Kayseri airport or Ürgüp bus-stataion to your hotel (along with your guide). Set off time will be 12:30 p.m. from our hotel to Soganli Valley, via Mustafapasa where we'll have our lunch in an old greek house, run by a local family. Mustafapasa is one of the most important Greek settlements in Cappadocia where the historical tissue has been preserved well. After lunch we drive to Soganli Valley,one of the monastic settlements where the first Christians inhabited. After hiking in Soganli town and through its churches we drive back to our hotel and stay overnight.

After picking you up from the hotel, we'll drive to Devrent Valley where the geografical formations remind us a place of another planet. Then in Pasabagi, we'll take a stroll among the amazing fairy chimneys of Cappadocia. From here we'll drive to Avanos to have our lunch. After having our lunch we leave from Avanos to see the most beautiful examples of Byzantine art in Göreme Open Air Museum. Then we drive to Uçhisar Castle, the highest point of the region, where we have a fabulous panoramic view over Cappadocia. Then we drive to the Red Valley, sunset point to watch the sunset at company of a glass of wine. We'll be watching it between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. We drive back to Nevsehir for lunch. Then we head to the Red Valley. Hiking in the valley we will enjoy the quiet nature of Cappadocia with its rock-carved chapels. Then we return to our hotel and stay overnight.

For our trip underneath to the ground, we set off to Kaymakli, one of the largest sub-terraine settlements in Cappadocia. Then we drive to Ihlara Canyon, we hike through the canyon by the Melendiz River, enjoying its natural beauty besides the rock-hewn churches. At the and of the hike a lovely local food avaits us in a restaurant by the river.After lunch we drive to Agzikarahan Carevanserai, one of the best examples of Selçuk art, built in the 13th century for the silk Road traders. After that we leave you at the airport in Kayseri or Ürgüp bus-station.
