Our Wine Tour in Cappadocia offers both wine cellars built out of centuries-old natural caves and wine tasting together. Cappadocia’s mineral-rich volcanic soil and temperate climate makes the perfect growing conditions for grapes and fruits.
Considered to be one of the regions where the making of wine originated, nearly 7000 years ago, Turkey is number 6 in the world for wine production, with an annual production of 75 million liters. Each region of Turkey has a different climate and soil composite and offers a different tasting experience. In Cappadocia the wines are smooth, dry and delightful. Red, blush and white wines, as well as dessert wines are produced here – grape growing and harvesting is done with ancient techniques in the many small vineyards and orchards that dot the landscape.
Our with tasting tour is the perfect introduction to the splendid wines of Cappadocia. Wine Tasting tour includes transportation to/from the winery, the wine cellar tour and the tasting (with 3 types of Cappadocian wines and cheese plate).
For our guests interested in a more in-depth Wine Tour, we can arrange a full-day including grape harvesting, wine making in a village setting or pekmez making (pekmez is the grapeseed molasses made each Autumn using traditional methods). Grape harvesting, wine making and pekmez making are available in late September and October. Please contact us for more information.
