FULL DAY PRIENE - MILETUS - DIDYMA TOUR

Departing from your hotel after breakfast, we will visit the ancient city of Priene. Originally founded in the 4th century BCE, Priene offers several note-worthy artifacts such as the Temple of Athena erected by Alexander the Great and  the agora (market) area of this city which was home to about 6,000 inhabitants in its day. We will continue onto Miletus - this ancient city's most famous site is now the amphitheater which was able to hold 24,000 spectators. Evidence of the first city was during Neolithic times and in the Bronze Age the settlement came under Minoan influence. Later in the 6th century BCE, Miletus was the greatest and wealthiest of the Greek cities. We continue on with our archaeological adventures to the ancient city of Didyma. This ancient Greek sanctuary on the coast offered a temple and Oracle of Apollo as well as the famously photographed stone-carved Medusa head artifact. After the tour we will return you to your hotel to complete the day.
